• “I taught myself web design in High School but wanted to be with professionals in the field. IGS found me a top design company where I could both learn and contribute. The first two weeks were a little stressful trying to learn new coding techniques. I was able to become productive and contributed to a major redesign that we completed for a client. I confirmed what I hoped that this is a solid career choice for me.”

TRACK TWO

We place you with a professional organization typically in eco-tourism, social media, environmental conservation, social services, or a professional organization of your choice and you are assigned to design, update, and market their existing web site and web presence. If you have a passion or cause, we may be able to place you with an organization that promotes your world vision and you can use your existing skills to improve their web presence.

OVERVIEW

Our internships will help you define the audience for your web development assignments. People will be viewing the web site for a specific reason and the internship hosts will teach you exactly what they are looking for when they visit the site. You will need a clearly defined purpose or goal for the site as well as an understanding of what visitors want to do or feel when they visit. A list of characteristics common to the users include:

  • Audience Characteristics

Our intern hosts may have you test the content on a focus group and compare the offerings to the audience needs. • The usability: the site should be user-friendly, with the interface and navigation simple and reliable.
